Shortly after completing my B.A. in Film at California State University of Fullerton, I joined the 11 Health family as the first Patient Coach. Before this, I was not open to speaking about my ostomy to anyone.
I have had ups and downs since the age of twelve with Crohn’s Disease. I never thought there would be a light at the end of the tunnel, but still I always had hope in my heart and a positive outlook on life.
After years of experimenting with all of the different Crohn’s medications and all of them failing, I underwent my first surgery in 2013 and became an ostomate. Since then, I have been overcoming many obstacles with my Crohn’s Disease and becoming a stronger and more positive person. After 10 years of being sick, I have now reached the closest I have ever been to remission.
Being a part of the 11 Health family the last year and a half has been a blessing and has made me a stronger and more open person. I have been given the opportunity to help try to change the lives of other patients with chronic illnesses and an ostomy. It’s a beautiful thing to be a part of.
