A California native, wife to high school sweetheart, and homemaker extraordinaire may be a place to start when learning about me, but there’s more to this girl. I have faced Severe Ulcerative Colitis at age fourteen, total colectomy with J-pouch by sixteen, and a permanent ileostomy at twenty-five. I’ve had six surgeries including hernia repair and stoma revision for a flush stoma. Autonomic Dysfunction and other health issues developed after getting C. Diff during a Pouchitis flare up. I’m allergic to almost all pain medications and even the adhesives that are on my ostomy. While I may be disabled, my attitude isn’t. I’m here to not only help but continue to learn and spread awareness about the life and challenges of this ostomate.
